A NEW LOOK AT VOLUNTEERING
Volunteering is a concept many of us are familiar with – but at Working Solutions we have a different perspective on the term. Sure our organisation relies upon people giving their time and expertise in the day-to-day operations, but our volunteers are people who want to learn new skills for work, people who are keen to grow their local connections in the community around them and look forward in their own time, to take advantage of our networks and find just the right job or career.
Our volunteers have a unique opportunity to use the experience we offer to build work skills, try new workplace roles and consider new job pathways.
In collaboration with our flexible work partners we source work-related opportunities that let our volunteers try new skills, build confidence in themselves as workers, and decide whether paid work in that area is realistic and an interesting opportunity. If you have a mutual obligation requirement you’re welcome to start meeting that commitment with us. Our volunteering positions are super popular, so don’t be discouraged if you miss out first time, try us again at another time.
Our volunteers are largely managed through our virtual workplace platforms, and an outreach volunteer coordinator works with our volunteers to help them learn new work tasks and manage their skills training

All our volunteer opportunities include training and ongoing mentoring according to your current skill set. Our volunteer opportunities support our advocacy role for those disadvantaged in the labour market.
We work in collaboration with employers and industry partners to develop work opportunities, provide pre-training, or launch your own business ideas.
We have number of projects in motion. If you are having difficulty competing with others securing mainstream employment opportunities, there are options with us that might suit your interests or career journey now.

The FundRise Project
Working in collaboration with Find It Locally P/L we’re developing 8800 digital community noticeboards to create sustainable fundraising opportunities for community organisations, and build business to NFP relationships for stronger sustainable communities with greater opportunities for everyone.
Wellness and Wellbeing
This project is sponsored by business partnerships. We’re contacted to develop and managing a business platform called “Essential Oil Shop” to retail aromatherapy products for home use and offer a practitioner wholesale channel. This project offers our volunteers a great opportunity to develop current skills.
Community Access
A project supporting adults who are in need of a companion or support person for safe community access, or assistance with travel to attend appointments or other community services. Our clients are generally older and fall outside support services for youth, mental health or high-needs agency assistance..
